Norway Terrorist used MW2 as "Training"

Here is the article that was posted up on I.G.N earlier today. Anders Breivik killed 93 people last week in Norway. What is really crazy is his "manifesto" which was 1500 pages which talked about his views of a non-christian Europe and hie negative views on Muslims. He also claim that he used Modern Warfare 2 as his form of training. To cover his activities, his excuse was that he was playing W.O.W. How can that be an excuse? So you are telling me that people did not bother him or check how he is doing was because he was playing World of Warcraft?....WOW. Here is the article:

In his 'manifesto', Anders Behring Breivik, the suspect in the brutal slaughter of 93 people in Norway last week, wrote about his enthusiasm for videogames, and how he used them as part of his "training".

The 1,500 page manifesto is currently being scrutinized by law-enforcement and media alike. It includes a desire to form a Europe, free from non-Christian religions. It's a bizarre hodge-podge of extreme right-wing views including a negative fixation on Muslims.
Andreas-Behring-Breivik
Breivik also enjoyed gaming. He wrote, "I just bought Modern Warfare 2, the game. It is probably the best military simulator out there and it's one of the hottest games this year. I see MW2 more as a part of my training-simulation than anything else. I've still learned to love it though and especially the multiplayer part is amazing. You can more or less completely simulate actual operations."

He also used World of Warcraft as an excuse for friends and family to cover other activities. "For example, tell them that you have started to play World of Warcraft or any other online MMO game and that you wish to focus on this for the next months/year. This 'new project' can justify isolation and people will understand somewhat why you are not answering your phone over long periods. Tell them that you are completely hooked on the game (raiding dungeons, etc.)."

See this is why I think mature games get a bad rap. This guy Anders clearly had some mental issues. To think that this guy considered a game to be his "training" for what he did in Norway is absolutely ridiculous. When most people play video games, believe it or not, they play to relieve stress. Maybe a bad day at work or school. It takes a mental state of a  person to realize between reality and a video games, and clearly Anders does not fit the case. The fact that he was "training" from a video game. This is not the first time someone has used video games as an excuse. In 2005 a group of kids stole numerous cars and their reasoning was that they could do the same thing in the Grand theft Auto series. People need to understand a game....is only  video game.

2 XBOX 360 Bundles this Fall!!!

Ok if you plan on getting an 360 anytime soon you might as well wait for this fall/winter time frame due to this two sick ass bundles that are coming out! One of being a Gears of War 3 version of the 360 and then they have announce a Star Wars bundle of the 360 that comes with the Kinect for the new Star Wars game.

Even if you are not a Star Wars fan, this 360 looks god damn tight! The 360 "on" button is blue instead of its normal green. You get a sick looking Gold controller, I guess that is supposed to be C-3PO and the XBOX is supposed to be R2-D2. You also get a big ass 320GB Hard Drive!! And personally I don't really care much the Kinect as of right now, but you had planned on getting the kinect for a while, this bundle may be the perfect opportunity!!!

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been announced!!!

For the people who have been playing Marvel vs Capcom 3, I'm pretty sure you have been wondering why we have not seen any more new characters for the past few months. I'm actually surprised that I did not see this coming. Since Capcom did the same thing with street fight 4, and making it super Street Fighter 4. Capcom has made a similar expansion to the MVC3 series and calling it Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with 12 new fighter which will bring the total to 50 playable characters. Which in my opinion is awesome, so now those people who complained about limited characters can stop whining. Apparently only four characters were suppose to be announce, but of course the roster got leaked in a matter of hours. (sometimes I think they do it on purpose) which reveal all the new 12 characters.

Marvel Side:
Ghost Rider
Hawkeye
Dr. Strange
Rocket Raccoon (I have no idea who he is)
Iron Fist

Capcom Side:
Phoenix Wright
Frank West
Nemesis (resident evil)
Vergil(devil may cry)
Firebrand(ghost and goblins)
Strider

I sure you guys and already figure out who is going to be your A-team for this upcoming game. I already got a couple of people I want try out. There is no official release out, for now all Capcom has said is that is due to release in November...GREAT....This is another game on my list of games that I plan on getting this year. I like how all the game all come out at the same time.... sarcasm

E3- BF3, Elder Scrolls, and Bioshock Infinite

OOOKKKK, for the past 2 days E3 has been going on and has been releasing a lot of information...pretty much about everything. Everything from Zelda and XCOM, from Mass Effect 3 to Modern Warfare 3. What I am going to be talking about in this is article is three different games they have talked about so far. First being Battlefield 3 with it's completely brand new and rebuild Frost-Bite 2 engine. Second will be Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and how the whole game is almost completely unscripted. Last, but not least Bioshock Infinite with creepy flying city and its extreme patriotism. Here we go...

With every video that DICE is showing about Battlefield 3, it gets me more and more excited for it. The more nervous I feel for Modern Warfare 3. Now i do want to say first, from what i have bee seeing Modern Warfare 3 looks amazing as well, but when i think of that new engine that DICE is using, i wonder how destructible the game rally is. DICE says that it surpasses what it is on Bad Company 2. So you can only imagine what that is capable of. Here is a Video link to see what I am taking about. Of course if you have seen the video for BF3 you would assume that there was jets in the game, but unsure if that was single or multiplayer. It has been confirmed that indeed it was multiplayer, which you know these online maps for the game are going to be HUGE! Both outskirts and urban environments.

The last thing I remember Bethesda about Skyrim is that on average the game is going to be 300 HOURS LONG!! Are you serious?! Now that may not come to a shock to a person who has played an Elder Scrolls game before, but i haven't. I mean 300 hours? What is there to do in a game that on average it takes 300 hours to beat. When I say the word "beat" I mean fully 100% complete the game. That fact that it is that long of a game is exactly why I want it. The map size of the game has been said that it is the size "Oblivion" or maybe a tad bit more. Also again, what is cool about this game is that it is unscripted, meaning it is random. you may be picking a fight with a mammoth and all of a sudden and F'in dragon will come down and take that mammoth and life it in the air! and let it drop! Then it is your choice if you want to fight that dragon or not. (which you most likely will) Just to show you how random it is, Check it out.

Bioshock Infinite is in fact a prequel to the very first Bioshock. You are a Pinkerton Detective Agent, (Real Agency in fact) assigned to go to this floating city called Columbia to rescue a girl that who has been captured for years. The city is a floating beacon of America's superiority over the world and the citizens are going through a civil war with two different factions. Apparently finding her was the easy part it just going about how to get her out of there is the hard part. Your character has a voice finally unlike the previous Bioshock characters. What convinced me to get this game is this 10 min trailer, and let me know what you think. Im pretty sure you will be sold. Video

E3- Microsoft and Nintendo Press Conference

Xbox Press Conference Summary
To start of the festivities that are E3, Xbox had their conference to foreshadow coming products in the coming year and a half. Now, we all know about the Halo news so Ill skip that today.

The big showcase for Microsoft was, of course, the Kinect. With some interesting new additions to the possibilities on how Kinect can be integrated into more hardcore games, Microsoft took a lot of hardcore gamers, who originally wrote the kinect off, by surprise and made them reconsider whether or to add the Kinect to their gaming stations.

Among the "WOW" factors for the Kinect are the seemly flawless voice integration. Now with compatible games, players can order AI teamates to "Move up" or "Fall back" and "cover me" etc. Also a player can now say lines in the game, not just select them and watch their character comrades react. If you are given a choice to ask 2 different questions, all that is required is you to say one of the two questions and your voice will be immediately integrated, giving you a better feeling of immersion into the game and a deeper bond with your character and you allies. You are not just playing the main protagonist, you are the main protagonist.

This is not the only new addition to the Kinect platform. You are now able to play games, such as Future Solider with a controller. By pointing at targets with one arm, you are aiming the weapon in game; to fire your weapon, all that's needed is to open the hand of the other arm in which you are aiming with. To change from primary to secondary weapons, just throw your arm over your shoulder, as it your new weapon is on a sling currently on your back.

The Xbox dashboard is now becoming a much more meaningful place in regard to other topics besides gaming. Bing, YouTube and live TV will all be available from the dashboard this fall, making the Dash a command station for all your entertainment desires.

Nintendo Press Conference Summary
Nintendo's press conference just finish about 30 minutes ago and along with many additional games being developed for the 3DS, the new console was announce, titled the "Wii U".

The Wii U can be compared to a 3DS, but without the completely portable feature. The Wii U features a completely wireless controller with its own screen between the joysticks and buttons. The controller also features a camera, a microphone, and speakers.

With all this additional hardware, the U can be used in a wide variety of new ways. If someone wants to come in and use the big screen TV to watch a movie, the U controller can take the place of the television so you do not have to stop playing. For games where developers are taking advantage of the 2 screens (being the television and the controller screen), the player can have 2 different vantage points for what is happening in game. For example, for those playing Mariokart, the TV will display your character, time, laps, etc; the basics... The Will U controller will allow you too see from a bird's eye view where all your opponents are on the track. If one is playing Zelda, the television is the main screen, with all the battles, characters, etc.... But the controller will display your items, ready for you to use with one touch.

Final Thought
Xbox and Nintendo brought very impressive demonstrations for existing and new products, but is the new Wii U an item that will drive hardcore gamers to buy Nintendo products again? I will defiantly agree with Nintendo in their claims to widen the array of people that play games, but I do not think they are adding any deeper levels of immersion for those already dedicated to more hardcore products and developers.

It seems Xbox is continuing to develop more for the moderate to serious gamer, while still offering a lot to the casual field of players as well. But I fear Nintendo is only drawing in new gamers, such as children, females and adults who haven't had interest in video games before. In time, those "new" gamers will either be happy with the level of gaming that Nintendo offers, but more likely, many of those players will desire more titles, better graphics, and over a more complete gaming experience, driving them straight into Microsoft and Sony's loving arms...

Below are both the Microsoft and Nintendo press conferences.

E3 Xbox Event- HALO 1 Remastered plus HALO 4 Announced!

At exactly 1230 pm, Eastern Standard Time, the E3 Xbox Conference Event streamed live onto our television sets and onto G4TV's website. As I sat through the 90 minute presentation of excellent and impressive Xbox titles and demonstrations via the Kinect, I was rewarded additionally by some of the biggest news that will come out of E3 all week...

HALO Combat Evolved Anniversary

Announced not even 30 minutes into the event, a short and nonchalant presentation for the remastered Halo Combat Evolved trailer dawned upon the stage. From the actual in-game footage of this "new" title, we can see that EVERY aspect of the campaign has been redone to show off the upgraded graphics of more recent time, as well as 7 of the most popular multiplayer maps have been brought back for those of us who have been here through it all. It was incredibly fascinating to see the difference in how Halo was made 10 years ago, when Combat Evolved first came out, and now, with Reach only 9 months old...

Those who were watching closely saw that this upgraded remake is not just the old game with a new suit on, it has in fact had a decent amount of effort put upon it to give it the same depth of combat Reach enables. We can see that assassination kills have been imported as well as some Reach weaponry, such as the assault rifle (which makes sense if you think about how Reach ends SECONDS before Halo 1 starts).

Of course after seeing this inside look at Combat Evolved Anniversary, and realizing we only have to wait until the end of the year, I anticipated a Halo 4 announcement to follow closely after... Within the last minutes of the Xbox conference, everyone's questions were answered...

Halo 4- A new Trilogy
Though the question will there be more Halo games? was answered, MANY more rose to take its place. From the trailer, we see Master Chief and Cortana's ship has either been damaged accidentally or purposefully by an unknown attacker. After waking from stasis, Chief grabs Cortana and proceeds off the currently incapacitated and half destroyed ship (with an upgraded pistol that apparently can now have attachments, such as allowing exploding ammo to be fired at debris to unblock a pathway). After reaching the edge of the ship with the help of his jetpack, Chief and Cortana lay their eyes on what may be their attackers, which happens to be another space craft the size of a small planet. While investigating who these beings may be, I took a closer look at their ship... The design and color do NOT match that of any ship in the Covenant fleet, but it DOES resemble the look of Forerunner technology. The ending cinematic of Halo 3 shows Chief and Cortana headed toward a planet that seemed to be covered from metal/ technologically advanced structured, thought to be the Forerunner's home planet (for those who have forgotten, the Forerunners built the Halo rings). Is this our enemy in Halo 4?

With the game play aside, some people may be thinking, "Hey wait, didn;t Bungie say they were done making Halo games???" Yes, they did, and they were not lying. 343 Industries was created in 2007 to oversee everything Halo related, meaning books, comics, toys, animated series, and of course, the games. Because Bungie has washed their hands of Halo, and Microsoft does not want their biggest and most successful franchise to die with them, they have allocated the job of making the next 3 installments of the Halo series to their own developer. The good part is to this is playing these games wont be completely foreign to those how have played all the Bungie titles, but also, I believe this is a move on Microsoft's part to not necessarily keep gamers happy, but more so to make their bottom line have more "0"s... I think its for the money. Not that Halo 4, 5, and 6 wont be amazing titles, they just may lack the luster the previous games shined with.
